God is at work. In me. In you. In us. Even when we can’t see it, articulate it or define it. He is at work. What a relief! And joy! It’s not up to me to figure it out (or you either!). It’s not up to me to effect my change (which is good because I couldn’t get myself as good as I’d like). It’s up to God.
I love the words of The Message for Ephesians 2:1-10:
“…We all did it, all of us doing what we felt like doing, when we felt like doing it, all of us in the same boat. It’s a wonder God didn’t lose his temper and do away with the whole lot of us! Instead, immense in mercy and with an incredible love, he embraced us…now God has us where he wants us, with all the time in this world and the next to shower grace and kindness on us in Christ Jesus. Saving is all his idea, and all his work. All we do is trust him enough to let him do it.”
ACTION: If God is working in you, what pressure or fear can/will you release? Enjoy for a moment the reality of His thorough rescue, love and kindness towards you. What does it feel like? What does it wake up in you?
