Christians feed on scripture. Christians don't simply learn or study or use scripture; we assimilate it, take it into our lives in such a way that it gets metabolized into acts of love, cups of cold water, missions into all the world, healing and evangelism and justice in Jesus' name, hands raised in adoration of the Father, feet washed in company with the Son.

A couple months ago I pointed out the importance of community for people living cross-culturally. Community is key to personal vitality. There is another important element of community as well. It is essential in validating our message.

Jesus is quite clear on this, I think: “Let me give you a new command: Love one another. In the same way I loved you, you love one another. This is how everyone will recognize that you are my disciples—when they see the love you have for each other.” (John 13:34-35, MSG)

Simply put, the way we live validates (or invalidates) our message.

We thank you for joining us in promoting and working to establish spiritual community among Christian leaders for the sake of their personal vitality and the validity of their message. We could not do it without you.

Because He is Near,
