Chuck & Lois Hall

Chuck and Lois are pleased to serve with Ministry Essentials. In 1951, during Chuck’s military service in the Phillipines, missionaries Jesse and Nettie Miller led him to Christ. With a heart for missions, Chuck committed to following God’s lead wherever it took him in order to share the Good News of Christ and join new believers on the road toward transformation. Despite his sense of failure at times in ministry and on the home front, God did not abandon his call to Chuck. By God’s grace, Chuck completed a B.A. from Moody Bible Institute and a Th.M. at Dallas Theological Seminary.
Lois came to the Philippines with her military husband in 1961 and met Christ at the Serviceman’s Center. With a passion to know God, she read the entire Bible in nine months. Many trials and six children later, Lois returned to the US and supported Chuck’s and his first wife’s ministry through prayer and financial support. In 1990, Janie, Chuck’s partner and mother of his three children, was called home to heaven. A few years later Lois’ husband died, and Chuck called to comfort and console her, little knowing that God would join their two families in marriage on February 14, 2004. Although Lois lacked the privilege of completing a college education, her bright an inquisitive mind prompted her to consume an entire encyclopedia. Furthermore today, she endeavors to read the Bible through annually.
Whether in the US or foreign lands, Chuck and Lois strengthen hearts through evangelism, mentoring, and teaching, never ceasing to find hungry and willing people who are eager to learn to trust and follow the Lord. Their work includes hospitality, friendship building, formal and informal instruction in homes, and Bible studies. They have worked in Europe, the Bahamas, the Philippines, Indonesia, and India via short-term mission invitations, and, over the years, Chuck has served as a pastor, career missionary, and seminary professor. Many beneficiaries of their labor are now pastors, teachers, missionaries, Bible translators, directors, and disciplers.
