Chris & Debbie Gibson

GibsonChris and Debbie Gibson are in their 9th year on the field serving under Ministry Essentials International since 2008 from Budapest, Hungary. The Gibsons were recently asked to direct the department of “Member Care” for the Evangelical Presbyterian Church’s missions arm “World Outreach”. Chris is an ordained EPC minister with 25 years of experience in pastoral ministry. He is also a Licensed Professional Counselor with training in individual, marriage and family counseling. Chris is trained in Critical Incident Debriefing and Crisis Intervention, having worked 12 plus years with fire and emergency services personnel in the Detroit area and has extensive experience in relational reconciliation with teams and individuals. He teaching and preaches regularly.

 

He and Debbie conduct seminars in such areas of need as “Beating Burnout”, “Resiliency – the Key to Long Term Effectiveness”, “Keeping Strong Marriages on the Field” and “Raising Resilient Daughters in Dark Places”.

 

Debbie, as a former senior pastor’s wife, elementary school teacher, youth worker, mother of four daughters and now a missionary knows well the ups and downs of ministry life. She brings a woman’s perspective to the work they do, counseling alongside Chris. Debbie’s ministry also includes intercessory prayer, Women’s Ministries and hospitality. They opened the Budapest Garden House Counseling/Ministry Center in 2011, which is now being re-tooled to provide soul care and equipping of global workers and national leaders in the region. In their new role with the EPC they will base out of Budapest, Hungary and the US.

Chris holds a Masters of Divinity from Reformed Theological Seminary, a Masters in Counseling Psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi, and a Doctor of Ministry from Dallas Theological Seminary. He trained in counseling and family ministry at “Focus on the Family”. Debbie holds a degree from University of Mississippi in Elementary Education.
