Al & Jeanie Stirling

The way of trust is a movement into obscurity, into the undefined, into ambiguity, not into some predetermined, clearly delineated plan for the future. The next step discloses itself only out of a discernment of God acting in the desert of the present moment.

We are grateful for Al and Jeanie’s 30+ years of cross-cultural ministry experience, training in theology and counseling, and heart for ministry. Yet central to their experience and training is their heart for God. Note Al’s words at the beginning of his PhD dissertation:

“I am thankful to God for his strong, yet tender pursuit of my heart. There is a deepening in my soul to surrender my claim or “right” to control and manage my life. There is a growing awareness of my own sinfulness and God’s great faithfulness. Psalm 40:16–17 (The Message) captures something of my present heart attitude toward my messiness and God’s commitment to make something out of my life. I am thankful that life is all about God’s glory, not mine.”

The Stirlings are based in Budapest, Hungary serving missionaries and pastors who live and work in Central/Eastern Europe.
